I teach all day. When does a five week course actually get worked?

In the gaps you do not have, which is why the plan is built on day one rather than discovered in week three. Most educators here hand over the drafting and keep the reading, which is the part worth their evenings.

What does aligning a capstone portfolio to standards involve?

Evidence, mapped. A portfolio is not a folder of assignments; it is a claim that you meet each standard, with an artifact that proves it and a reflection explaining what the artifact shows. The work is deciding which piece evidences which standard, filling the gaps where nothing does, and writing reflections that argue rather than describe. That mapping is where portfolios usually fail.

How closely is APA 7 checked in ACE courses?

Closely enough that it moves grades. Reference list formatting, in text citation punctuation, heading levels, table and figure notes: the details graders can check quickly are the details they check. Every draft leaving here is run against the current edition, and every source in the list is real and retrievable, because a reference that cannot be found is worse than a missing one.

My assignments ask about my own classroom. How does that work?

You supply the classroom, we supply the structure. Grade level, subject, the intervention you tried, what the data looked like, the constraint your building put on it: those details only you have, and a ten minute voice note usually covers them. From there the reflection or action research write up is built around your setting rather than a generic one.
